There are certain things around us which create a sense of difference between rural areas and urban areas in our country. And the most significant of them all is infrastructural development. Big cities consist of many massive architectural structures and premises which highly represent the monumental development in that particular area. Whether it’s basic life necessities or the governmental facilities, it’s absolutely evident to say that rural areas are far behind than urban areas. Still many practices are being done by the government and non-government organizations in order to bring development in villages. Environmentally friendly practices, improving education, cleanliness awareness programs and rural infrastructure development in India are some majorly known steps taken by such organizations to help our country in heading towards a better future.

One such organization is SEED CSR, it’s a non-profit csr implementing organisation which works for the welfare of underprivileged people. Apart from it they also have a huge role to play when it comes to environmentally friendly practices. Health and cleanliness are the two terms which have a very strong connection with the human body. As we know that without good health, the proper functioning of the human body is impossible and to attain better health it’s obligatory to live in a clean and hygienic environment. In India, hundreds of families are facing major health related issues due to lack of cleanliness. Diarrhea, pneumonia, gastroenteritis, trachoma, food poisoning etcetera all these diseases are caused by harmful microorganisms which reach to our systems due to unhygienic polluted surroundings. In India the rate of pollution is on it’s peak and it causes a direct impact on the wellbeing of our people. Both kids and adults are on the same plane when it comes to unhealthy life.

You must have heard the news regarding a 14 year boy who died due to cancer. There was a time when such big diseases were caused only to old people but now the situation has deteriorated so much that young kids are also getting affected by them. With this you can guess how difficult the situation has become for mankind. Not even adults but also the little ones are infected with fatal diseases because of the unclean atmosphere. To get rid of these situations our government and also the non-governmental organizations are conducting various new programs. CSR agencies like SEED are also contributing to this good cause through their CSR healthcare projects. These CSR healthcare projects are being volunteered in several states across the country to help people in order to fight against harmful infections.

What does empowerment mean to you? For us it means giving authority and control to a particular individual to take his/her life decisions without any fear and restrictions. It means letting them live life on their own to be independent in every way possible. From the last few years, one term has been very much discussed in society which is directly associated with empowerment. Yes, you guessed it right. It’s women empowerment. As we all know that women make up half of our country’s whole population, which means by encouraging them to become economically, educationally and socially independent we are somehow contributing in the development of our country. It is not hidden that in history, the situation of women was tremendously miserable. They were restricted to household tasks, oblivious of their rights and were treated as materialistic objects. Cleanliness Drive Campaigns Run by SEED CSR

Cleanliness and sanitation plays a vital role in physical as well as economic growth of a country. If the people are disease free and living a hygienic and clean lifestyle then they can definitely prove to be more productive than ever. As the population of India increases rapidly, so is the pollution rate. Although we as a whole are heading towards a better technological and electronic future. But there’s also a dark side of this incrementation which we often underestimate.

Implementation of huge factories, manufacturing headquarters, industries might bring development to the IT and business sector but the one thing we can’t deny is the fact that they are contributing in various types of harms to the environment. The percentage of clean water and good air index is decreasing with a drastic drop leading to many health-related issues among people.

To improve the quality of sanitization in the country, the Indian government issued the Corporate Social Responsibility act in the year 2013. According to this act companies having a net worth of 500 crores or more, turnover of 1000 crore or profit rate over 500 crores are obligated to contribute 2% of their total worth in social activities. This act was introduced because of the increasing rate of crises happening in the country.

Many CSR agencies in India are authorized to implement this act on ground level. SEED CSR works with a purpose of improving the quality of natural resources to restore better health facilities in rural as well as urban areas. In order to raise awareness among youth regarding health care and sanitization many Cleanliness drive campaigns were organized by SEED CSR in the past years. In these campaigns they install dustbins, public toilets, hand pumps, water coolers and water purifiers in rural areas. They also provide drainage facilities, better sewerage, renovation of walls and toilets. In terms of informing a large number of audiences about Swachh Bharat abhiyan, SEED CSR conducts many entertainment activities like street plays and rallies on a regular basis. The major reason behind such cleanliness drive campaign is to alert people about the terrible consequences that may happen if we continue to pollute the environment.

Course: Teach Kids To Read

We have developed a teacher training curriculum and were able to host training sessions for teachers and educational personnel about new techniques of teaching how to read. We believe this will empower teachers in classrooms to teach more effectively.

School Bus Initiative

The focus of our last quarter has been working with local groups to improve bus networks. We believe that it is vital to provide transportation options for children living in rural areas. Thanks to our donors we were able to fund 50 buses and 200 cars that transport children to schools all around the globe.

10,000 Pencils Delivered to Schools

This summer, because of the effort of our volunteers and the generous donations from our sponsors, we were able to deliver 10,000 pencils to children in need. We were able to reach the most unprivileged areas and provide local schools with this vital tool for education.
